In the whirlwind of the awards season, we’re catching a fever of inspiration from these amazing influencers in the movie-making industry. We can’t wait to see what these one-of-a-kind artists will do next!



Marielle Heller, Won Best First Feature Spirit Award.- First-time filmmaker and actress Marielle Heller adapted the novel by Phoebe Gloeckner and brought the gritty, steamy reality of a teenage girl to life. Diary of a Teenage Girl.


Mya Taylor- First-time actress. Best Supporting Female Spirit Award. Greatly influenced the dialogue, plot and style of Sean Baker’s Tangerine. Mya has been a huge inspiration to Sean Baker during the filmmaking process. During Film Independent’s Director’s Close-Up night Sean revealed how Mya shaped the storyline of Tangerine and became the driving force to add humor to the dialogue.

Abraham Attah- Won Best Male Lead at the Spirit Awards for ‘Beasts of No Nation’ and we’re very impressed with his first performance as an actor. We can’t wait to see what he does next!


Alicia Vikander- Won Oscar for Best Supporting Actress Danish Girl. This past year she has given some magnetic performances in a variety of dimensions from Alex Garland’s ‘Ex Machina’, ‘Seventh Son’, ‘Testament of Youth’, and we are looking forward to her feature opposite of Michael Fassbender ‘The Light Between Oceans’ set to come out this Summer.

Emmanuel Lubezki- Won yet another Oscar for Best Cinematography for ‘The Revenant’ for the and we aren’t surprised. His unique eye and humble demeanor is one-of-a-kind and we love getting our eyes on his latest masterpiece.
